Nasaji Baghrami IDP Camp- Kabul

Kartenow - Nasaji Bagramy, District 8- IDP Camp, Eastern Kabul is home to 360 families, 2500 people-  mainly from Helmand. Saber Bibi, 15, did not want to be photographed- originally from Kandahar but went to marry her husband in Lashkar Gar, Helmand and had to flee because of the conflict.<br />
Came to the camp three years ago.<br />

“My baby Fatima was born but after 10 nights she died. I don't know what the sickness was but the baby was normal.” The birth at her mother's home was at full term and when she came back to the camp a month ago she got sick.<br />
“How could I keep my baby warm in this house? Maybe she froze to death, I think that's how she died.”<br />
Talib, his face covered in dirt, in a grubby coat and red wellies is holding a bag of pills, medicine for his grandmother, but he's not giving it back and he starts to eat them.<br />
Cracked mud walls and floor with open draught through the door.<br />
“We came here because of the conflict. We have to buy water<br />
Has bare feet in sandals despite the cold – the next morning Kabul is coated in snow.<br />
“We were poor even before coming here. My father was a labourer and didn't have a proper job. “Then because of the conflict we left. There were bombings in the area and we lost so many people.<br />
Nervous to leave the hut and becomes agitated when men come near the door, pulling her scarf tighter. “Even my brother-in-law hasn't seen my face.”<br />
Beautiful auburn curly hair and kohled eyes.<br />
“I've not been to school but I've attended tailoring classes. I'd like to work but only if it's nearby. My husband will not allow me to leave the camp. If these people training us belong to the camp my husband doesn't have a problem.”<br />
“We are poor. Our husbands work but we are just sitting in our house idle. I'd like to work but I'm not allowed.<br />
“We eat whenever it's available. We don't usually eat three times a day and when we do it's oninons with bread.<br />
Her only clothes are a thin shawl and dress.<br />
